The Oregon Highway Use Tax is based on both the miles traveled on Oregon highways and the weight of the vehicle. ODOT requires an Oregon Weight receipt and an Oregon Tax identifier if your vehicle travels on Oregon highways and has a gross weight exceeding 26,000 lbs. The Oregon Highway Use Tax must initially be filed monthly, but after 1 year you may apply to file quarterly. When you purchase the Road Tax Upgrade of MyFuelTax you will have the capability of filing the Oregon Highway Use Tax (as well as New Mexico, Kentucky, and New York) using the miles already entered for your IFTA report. And your report will be printed as an exact duplicate of the official State form. You just print it, sign it and send it.
At the bottom of the Edit Units Dialog are 4 Tabs, 1 for each of the states requiring a Highway use or Weight Distance Tax and which are covered by the Road Tax Upgrade. For Oregon you would begin by filling in the Oregon Plate or Pass #, the registered state/province of the vehicle, and the make of the vehicle. Next you would enter the Declared weight of the vehicle, which establishes the correct tax rate to be applied. If the declared weight is grater than 80,000 lbs., the program will ask you to select the number of axles for this configuration of tractor/trailer(s).
The Rate Tables for Oregon should be checked against the current Oregon rates. The Rate Tables are easily edited if needed.
This is the Report and Print Dialog for the Oregon Highway Use Tax Report. You will find it by clicking ‘All Reports’ in the gray menu bar of the Spinnaker Fuel Tax Welcome page. In this print dialog simply select a customer (the same as User Profile) and select the appropriate quarter, month, or year for which you wish to run the report. Then click ‘Create Report’. The text box in the upper right part of the dialog will list all units included in the report and the specifics you entered in the Edit Units Dialog. The report itself will show in the grid in the lower part of the dialog. Once the report is saved the ‘Print’ button will be activated.
